A recent study in diabetes in the UK has found that one in three diabetics are risking long term health problems, including heart disease, kidney failure and blindness because they fail to successfully regulate their blood sugar levels.
An study of more than two million diabetics in the UK found 797,067, or 34 percent diabetes sufferers, were not hitting their recommended daily blood glucose levels, a situation which has serious consequences for those people trying to manage their disease and have a normal quality of life.
Diabetes is a disease that is believed to cost the Natinal Health Service £1 million an hour, or £8.7 billion a year in the UK alone.
For those not touched by diabetes there is little known about the condition.
