Tweet What You Eat shames users into weight loss

Did you know there is a Twitter-based dieting tool called Tweet What You Eat which allows registered users track food intake, calories and their weight from devices including their mobile phone, Instant Messenger, Facebook and Twitter.

You can track your food intake and you use this to help you lose weight. Big deal - every food monitoring-based dieting and weight loss programme aims to do this. However, using Tweet What You Eat means that you can add foods to your diary on the go, without having to carry a dieting book or trying to remember everything you eat at the end of the day.

But the best bit ... others can see your food intake too. They can also track your weight loss and dieting progress, which many Tweet What You Eat users feel will help them by shaming them into hitting their deiting targets.

If you like, Tweet What You Eat acts as a 'supportive' diet group, but with an audience including ALL your friends, family and work colleagues. Scary!

Whether the 'shame game' method of weight loss will work for you is debatable. But with thousands of people thinking it will work for them, giving Tweet What You Eat might not be a bad idea.
