I have a limited budget so which training supplement should I invest in?

What is your training goal? If your goal is to gain lean muscle tissue or specifically muscle size (hypertrophy) then whey protein powder would be your best no question.
If your goal were to improve your overall health then fish oils would be your best bet. If you were obese I would strongly recommend magnesium to improve insulin resistance so it is completely dependable on your training goal.

From your question, I assume you feel there is a need to take a training supplement. It is not a question that can be answered without a lot more information, eg:
- What are you trying to achieve
- Have you been working out for a long time
- What are your long-term goals (ie improved strength, weight loss, visible muscle gain etc)
- What is your current weight and height ratio
If you can provide us with a bit more information about yourself, we can give you the correct advice.

A healthy diet!
Forget health supplements; make sure that you get your "five a day" keep your protein intake below 20% and your fat intake below 35% of your daily intake and get at least 50 % from Carbs although avoiding sugary foods is important and switch to brown bread and rice etc. Also remember to eat soon after your workout as your body will have used much of its available carbohydrate energy stores. Fat takes too long to metabolise so you may start to break down all of that new muscle you have been working so hard to build.
Food supplements are a waste of time and money for the majority of people, unless that is you are a professional athlete or body in which case you may need to see a specialist sports nutrition consultant.
