The One Spa, located in Edinburgh, is one of Scotland's leading spas and health club facilities. The state of the art gym at ONE has been fully equipped with latest Technogym cardio and resistance equipment. Members are given their own individualised workout programme, which is tailored to meet their needs.
The One gym
The Gym uses the evolutionary Key System, which stores your individual programme and workout history on your personal microchip key. By inserting the 'Key', exercise machines are automatically set for the member, adjusting distance, speed and workload. The Key monitors your performance and allows the ONE fitness team to design a progressive exercise regime and assist in guiding you to achieve your individual goals.
Fitness testing at the One Spa
The wellness test is designed to give you an overall view of your health and fitness by testing a number of different variables, and includes the following. Body Stat Analysis: The Body Stat computer measures various aspects of body composition including body fat percentage.
- Micro Spirometer: The Micro Spirometer measures lung function including power and size.
- Handgrip Dynamometer: This measures grip strength and the results are compared to the general population.
- Aerobic fitness test: This is a sub maximal test used to establish VO2 max, which is the main indicator of aerobic fitness.
- The Body Stat test and the Aerobic fitness test can both be done as individual tests.
Personal training at the One Spa
One Spa offers members and hotel guests professional one to one health and wellness programmes through the Executive Fitness Foundation. Director, Iain Bell, has provided personal fitness programmes for over 10 years and has clients in the UK, United States, Australia and France.
Members and guests can experience an exciting range of complete health and fitness programmes whilst developing their own knowledge and skill in many areas of health and fitness. Specialist programmes include postural assessment and correction, weight management and nutrition, aerobic conditioning and travel programmes.
All sessions are designed to meet your personal health goals with continual guidance and support ensuring success in exercise, health eating and relaxation.
