From the opening of our first club in Ingleby Barwick, near Stockton-on-Tees, in October 1997, the Bannatyne's company has undergone a phase of rapid expansion and now employs just over 1,200 people.

With over 35 clubs and a combined membership in excess of 90,000, Bannatyne's has an annual turnover of £28 million.It is anticipated that a total of 40 clubs will be open by the end of 2006.

Bannatyne Fitness in 2007
This year Bannatyne Fitness is carrying out a £1.8million refurbishment programme, with new Life Fitness equipment installed in its gyms in Ingleby Barwick, Durham, Edinburgh, Norwich, and Mansfield.
Edinburgh also boasts a new family changing area, Norwich has invested in new resistance machinery and the latest cardio-theatre equipment, and Mansfield has had the biggest upgrade of all, with a new 20m pool and changing areas, gym extension, beauty rooms and aerobics studio.The ambitious project helps preserve Bannatyne Fitness’ standing at the cutting edge of the regional fitness arena for years to come.
