Cannons Health & Fitness Clubs is the name for our clubs providing affordable health and fitness facilities. Courtneys is part of the Cannons Group, but is also a well known brand within public leisure facilities.

Cannons is a privately owned leading health and fitness operator. The company was taken private in May 2001 through a £360m buyout led by Harm Tegelaars and backed by the Royal Bank ofPrivate Equity (RBPE).

The Cannons founder

Founded in 1980 by Harm Tegelaars, the company was one of the first health and fitness companies to operate in the UK.

Cannons today

Today, Cannons has 165,000 members across its 67 sites. These comprise 52 Cannons Health and Fitness Clubs in the UK and 15 local authority sites managed by Cannons Leisure Management. Cannons Health and Fitness Clubs are nationwide with sixteen within the London area.
