Group cycling classes such as RPM, Keiser and Spinning have grown considerably in popularity over the last few years featuring heavily on any gym or leisure centre class timetable. Being able to plan and deliver fun and challenging workouts in these classes will certainly boost your popularity and reputation as an instructor as well as your earning potential! In only one day you will have the all the basics to kick-start your career as a group cycling instructor.
You will cover topics such as biomechanics, riding positions and safety and setup through to planning the class, practicalities of teaching studio cycling as well as using the appropriate music selection for certain sections of the cycling workout.
The practical skills learnt on the module will be assessed throughout the day by tutor observation. Prior to attending this module we require you to have completed a REPS level 2 award.
Entry requirements
A REPs recognised Fitness Instructor Qualification (level 2) is required prior to commencing this course.
Assessment and certification
This workshop is formatively assessed. Students will achieve a certification of attendance and 8 CPD credits.
