The Future Fit Training Gym Instructor course will help you to develop and acquire all the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified Fitness Instructor.
Before attending the Gym Instructor practical workshops you will take the Theory of Anatomy and Physiology online course. Once you have this under your belt the next stage in becoming a Fitness Instructor, or a qualified Personal Trainer, is the Gym Instructor course.
Gym Instructor course - the practical workshops
The Gym Instructor course practical workshop sessions are held at your nearest Future Fit Training centre, over a 3-day period. Here, you will meet with the other students on your course and learn from an experienced Tutor.
You’ll learn:
- the role of the Gym Instructor
- the essential skills necessary to become a fitness professional
- how to instruct and coach safe and effective exercises.
The 3-day Gym Instructor course covers a range of key fitness and exercise areas, including:
- stretching
- CV machines
- resistance machines
- free-weights.
The Gym Instructor course DVD
To assist you in preparing for the workshop and assessment, you are supplied with a DVD prior to your course. The DVD demonstrates all the exercises you have been taught, along with all of the teaching points you’ll need to know.
The Gym Instructor course awards
After passing the Theory of Anatomy and Physiology multiple-choice exam and the Gym Instructor practical assessment, you will be awarded the Future Fit Training Gym Instructor course certificate – your licence to teach. You’ll also gain entry on to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at Level 2.
As a qualified Gym Instructor / Fitness Instructor working in the health and fitness industry, health club members will look to you for guidance and direction on all aspects of exercise and fitness.
