Nutritional Advice for Physical Activty course
The Nutritional Advice for Physical Activity course delivered by Premier Training aims to develop individuals to a competent level to be able to provide and effectively communicate nutritional advice for physical activity.
Course structure
The length of the Premier Training Nutritional Advice for Physical Activity course is 1 week, which comprises of home study. The course is part of the Fitness Trainer qualification delivered by Premier Training, but it can be taken as a stand alone training course.
Course requirements
There are no formal qualifications required to understand the Premier Training Nutritional Advice for Physical Activity course. However, competent reading, writing and numeracy skills are expected.
Students enroling onto the Nutritional Advice for Physical Activity course, in line with other Premier Training courses, must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

Nutritional Advice course content
The Nutritional Advice for Physical Activity course aims to develop student's skills when working with clients and the general public in health and fitness surroundings. This skill set will include:
- Effective communication and developing motivational strategies
- Developing professional relationships, liaising with colleagues and other professionals
The Nutritional Advice course will also provide students with and introduction to nutrition, protein, carbohydrates, fibre, glycaemic index, lipids, vitamins and minerals and free radicals - all elements that effect a person's diet and nutritional intake.
Weight management
The course will provide topics which cover main areas of nutrition and weight management, including:
- Pre- and post- exercise nutrition
- Digestion
- Weight management
- Goal setting
- Food ethics
- Food labelling and additives
These programmes of study will allow graduating students work with clients based on common everyday situations.
