Sartorius

Perform hip abduction standing upright, which will target the sartorius. The sartorius will also be stimulated during a lot of hamstring exercises in which the flexion of the knee is the primary action.

The Sartorius, or "tailors muscle" is a long muscle which runs the length of the thigh, "Sartorius" meaning "to do tailoring" in Latin, with tailors often sitting cross legged. Usually only visible on competitive conditioned bodybuilders who have well developed Sartorius muscles coupled with an extremely low level of body fat, the Sartorius is often seen as a thin but long muscle crossing the length of the thigh.

When training for muscular size it is often best to train in a rep range of 6-12 repetitions, although there is often much debate on the optimal rep range. It would be advisable to experiment with different ranges to see which suits you.
