Farmers walk
Holding onto heavy objects whilst walking over the longest distance has been a common test of strength in many strong man competitions for decades. Great for improving grip strength and endurance, the farmers walk can be performed in most gyms with dumbbells.
Performing the farmers walk
Perform the farmers walk with heavier dumbbells, for a greater time period
to progress.
- Find dumbbell of a suitable weight for you to execute the movement.
- Grasp dumbbells in each hand.
- Keep torso erect, and back straight.
- Whilst holding onto dumbbells, walk for desired distance or desired amount of time. Keeping back straight and good body posture throughout execution.
